National Waiters’ Day is the brainchild of founder Fred Sirieix, and run by The Springboard Charity. It’s a national campaign designed to celebrate the wealth of careers, and talent of staff, in the Food & Beverage Service Industry across the UK. Whether a waiter in a fine dining restaurant like Galvin at Windows, or a mixologist, bartender or barista, this is a day for all!
All funds raised from the day will help to support Springboard’s FAB (Food & Beverage Programme). The programme has been created to inspire and educate students about careers in front of house food and beverage roles.
The campaign aims to change the perception of service roles as an unskilled job with long working hours to one that offers great skills. Jobs in hospitality can lead to rewarding careers with great progression routes and amazing benefits! The National Waiters Day will involve a day of activity across the country, with the flagship race taking place at the London Hospitality Festival in London as well as accompanying regional races being held anywhere from the Highlands to Cornwall. Whether you’re a job-seeker, a school or a business, get involved now by completing the form below!
2019 marks the seventh anniversary of National Waiters’ Day, celebrating Food & Beverage Service staff and inspiring people about careers in hospitality. Our collaboration with the London Hospitality Festival will combine celebration of the excellence, dedication, hard work and discipline of the 2.9 million people working in the UK hospitality industry. Everyone can help celebrate the day, whether through an activity or simply by tweeting @WaitersDay_UK on the day with the hashtag #NWD2019
